Botkier x Coco Rocha Holiday 2015 Collaboration
It was announced back in May this year, but if you haven’t already heard, Botkier has teamed up with the gorgeous supermodel, Coco Rocha, to create a Holiday 2015 collection and…it’s amazing! The collaboration is of course called Botkier X Coco Rocha (what else?) and it was inspired by the 4 different fashion capitals of the world: New York, London, Milan and Paris. Botkier and Coco have named the different bags after the cities they most closely represent, while each collection completely captures Coco’s unique eye for design and talent.
For those of you not familiar with Coco Rocha, she’s a 27 year old, international model who started modelling in 2002. She was born in Toronto, Canada but grew up in British Columbia. Her career has been incredible, growing every year, starting out with opening the Christian Lacroix couture show in Paris in January 2006. Shortly after, she signed an exclusive contract with photographer Steven Meisel, she appeared in an editorial with Gemma Ward and Amanda Moore and landed the cover of the the April 2006 issue of Vogue Italia.
Coco has since been on the cover of many top fashion magazines including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Flare, Fashion, Numéro, L’Officiel, W, Dazed & Confused, i-D and many more. She has also been the face of a variety of advertising campaigns including Versace, Balenciaga, Chanel, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Lanvin, Tommy Hilfiger, Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein, Nicole Farhi and Rimmel, among numerous others! She’s definitely a force in the fashion industry.
Now getting to Botkier, Monica Botkier has had a love affair with fashion and accessories since she was little and growing up in New York City. She started her self named brand in 2003 after building a name for herself as a fashion photographer. Monica is a true New Yorker and you can see that most of her bag designs are inspired and influenced by New York City, giving it a true heritage. The very first collection introduced the Botkier classic Trigger bag, which became an iconic classic for the brand. Since the launch, Monica has been recognized for her contributions to the accessories industry by being inducted as a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 2007 and has continued to have success ever since.
It truly comes as no surprise to us here at Fashion Runway Blog that Coco Rocha and Monica Botkier have teamed up. I think the pair make an unstoppable duo in the fashion industry and I can personally see this collection selling out and even being signed on for a second and third season. How amazing would that be? You can see each design and read about the cities story behind them below, but definitely let us know what you think!
Paris Fur Satchel

Paris Grey Satchel
“The Paris group of course is very chic and refined. It’s that Parisian woman who has it all together and does it so effortlessly. It’s more understated and yet, it speaks so loudly.”
New York Studded Shoulder Satchel
“The New York group has these great pyramid shaped polyhedron studs that are very armor like and sort of rock and roll. New York is a tough city, and you definitely need a tough skin to make it there so, I felt this was a great fit.”
London Silver Clutch
“The London group is more futuristic and Avant Garde. In general, I find London has always been the most forward thinking and futuristic of the fashion capitals. This group is all about geometric angles and structure. I was inspired by both sculptures and mathematical architecture which I think London has some great examples of. I know it has its critics, but I always love seeing “the Gherkin” in the London skyline.”
Milan Black Clutch
“For the Milan group, we have these great exaggerated fringes which the Milanese have always embraced and done so well. Milan is a city of culture and beauty but it’s also very young and fun at heart. The Italians there know how to laugh and have fun and I think a good fringe is always about having a good time.”
